Requirements
- Lead companywide safety strategy and culture development.
- Oversee multisite safety performance and compliance.

Qualifications

Requirements
- Manage pre‑construction activities and interpret contractual requirements.

- Perform estimating tasks including takeoffs and quote evaluations.
Qualifications

Requirements
- Transport tools and materials between shop and job sites.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and small repairs.
- Assist with tool inventory and organization.
- Handle incoming freight and plan delivery routes.
- Support general shop and yard upkeep including cleaning and seasonal tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL meeting company driving requirements.

Electrical Planning, Layout & Detail Specialist
Van Ert is hiring an Electrical Planning, Layout and Detail Specialist to create detailed, code compliant electrical layouts and schematics for construction projects. This position ensures designs meet project goals, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create detailed electrical layouts using CAD/design software.
- Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, and VDC/Field teams on timelines and budgets.
- Interpret blueprints, update designs to code, and assist field crews.
- Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and resolve layout questions.
- Maintain quality control through regular checks and documentation
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in electrical layout/design/drafting preferred.
- Proficient in CAD (Revit) with solid knowledge of electrical codes and design tools.

Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer is responsible for leading all controls efforts for the projects they are assigned. This position will provide electrical design, controls engineering, troubleshooting of engineering problems and give direction and coordination of electrical design for industrial projects. The Controls Engineer will work with our clients to assure quality and timely completion of projects assigned to ensure the customers best solution is implemented. They will work closely with Project Managers and Process Engineers to advance their projects through design phases and commissioning. The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration and communication skills and possess the ability to learn and adapt to new and evolving processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design control panels for industrial processes.
- Develop I/O Lists and I/O Wiring Diagrams.
- Contribute to the development of construction packages and specifications.
- Develop network diagrams and drawings.
- Program industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Application engineering for sensing and control, as well as installed system troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with other engineering colleagues on multi-discipline projects.
- Coordinate with project clients, equipment vendors, and contractors.
- Support project start-up activities with field commissioning.
- Perform design modifications of new and existing electrical installations and power systems.
- Give technical support, constructive inputs, recommendations, and solutions to other departments.
- Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and on budget.
- Provide clear communication with project management staff and supervisors on issues that may arise.
- Generate bills of material and electrical schematics.
- Provide customer service and support via telephone, email and onsite.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering degree or Associates degree with 5+ years of working experience.
- Knowledge of electrical and networking fundamentals.
- Microsoft Office and associated applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Experience with PLC hardware/software and configuration. Rockwell/Allen Bradly.
- Factory Talk SE/ME Programming.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as a team.
- Understanding of project workflows from design, estimating, coordination, procurement, construction support, pre-fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Desired Experience:
- Oracle, SQL, or other database program experience.
- Understanding of NEC and UL508a.
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Programming.
- Servo Controls.
- Server setup and deployment.
- Network Design and implementation.
- Industrial Managed Switch Programming.
- SCADA systems.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Working knowledge of One-line diagrams, Schematics, Wiring diagrams, Communications, Control enclosure design and details and Bills of Materials.
Work Environment:
- Job requires employee to sit for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Primarily based in the office with occasional site visits throughout Wisconsin. Occasional travel consisting of 25-50%.

VDC Technician
Van Ert is hiring a VDC Technician to support large-scale construction projects by creating and managing accurate 3D and 2D electrical system models.
Responsibilities:
- Create and coordinate electrical system models using Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with project teams using BIM/VDC workflows.
- Resolve clashes, convert files, and generate coordination reports.
- Learn and apply new modeling software tools as needed.
- Support accurate, efficient project planning and execution.
Requirements:
- 0–5 years of experience in VDC, BIM, or CAD (construction/electrical focus preferred).
- Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD; Civil 3D/Inventor a plus.
- Understanding of electrical systems and construction workflows.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
